Listing on external marketplaces

One product record can be published to eBay, Etsy and Yahoo! Shopping. Orders from all of them arrive on the same screen as your orders with us.

Which marketplaces you can use

We currently support eBay, Etsy and Yahoo! Shopping. eBay is the one most of our sellers use for cross-border trade, and it has the fullest support here, including category suggestions and shipping estimates. Etsy is for handmade and vintage items and craft supplies. For selling within Japan, Yahoo! Shopping is the one to look at.

Connecting

Open "Sales channel integration" and any marketplace you have not connected shows a "Connect" button. Pressing it takes you to that marketplace's own login screen. We never hold your password; we store only the permissions you grant on their screen.

For eBay you will also need payment, return and postage policies. If you do not have them yet, you can create them from the same screen.

Once that is done, press "Verify connection" and we will check whether your current permissions are enough to publish listings.

You can disconnect at any time. Do note that disconnecting does not remove listings already live on the marketplace, so please end those individually if you need to.

Publishing a listing

Create the product once under "Listings" here, then send it to each marketplace from there. There is no need to re-enter the details for every marketplace.

1. Create the listing

   Enter the title, description, price and images.

2. Choose where to publish

   From the listing screen, pick the marketplaces to send it to.

3. Check the result

   The status appears in the list. If something did not go through, the reason is shown.

Publishing to eBay

eBay asks for a good deal of detail, so there are a few things here to help. We suggest categories from the product title, and draft the item specifics that a given category requires. Please read those drafts through and correct them where needed before publishing.

For postage, you can work out a price by weight and size across options such as Japan Post EMS and Small Packet, and SpeedPAK.

If a listing does not go through

The reason appears in the list. Missing fields and images that fall short of the marketplace's requirements are the two most common causes. Once you have made the corrections, "Retry" sends the same listing again. To take something down from the marketplace, use "Withdraw".

Estimating fees beforehand

Before you publish you can enter a price and see roughly what each marketplace will charge.

After something sells

Orders from external marketplaces appear alongside your orders with us under "Orders and shipping". Check the order, mark it packed once it is boxed, then enter the carrier and tracking number and mark it dispatched.

What you enter is passed back to the marketplace. There is no need to record it twice.

How quickly things appear

Syncing with the marketplaces runs automatically, but not instantly. If a listing or a dispatch has not appeared in the list yet, please give it a little while and then press "Refresh".

If it still has not updated, send us the listing ID or order number through a support ticket and we will look into it.

"Fees and listing rules" in the admin screens sets out the conditions for each marketplace. It is worth a read before you publish for the first time.
